Project Summary

The City of Perryville and Ranken Technical College utilized public and private funds to secure a new Technical College in Perryville, MO. The use of public funds dictated that the duration of the project be condensed. Due to the solicitation requirements of the Missouri Revised Statutes, the City and Ranken selected the Construction Management at Risk delivery method for the new facility per RSMo 67.5050. RIHC Contracting was selected per the guidelines of the statutes to serve as the CMaR.

The facility consists of seven large work bays for technical education that will offer
a variety of course offerings to students, including: welding, diesel technology, commercial driver’s license, industrial engineering technology, and information technology. The work bays consist of large open spaces for various trainers and each is accessible by a large overhead door. The facility also includes five large classrooms, and an administrative area. These areas are high finish, with stained concrete floors, decorative LED lighting, significant natural lighting via glass curtain walls, and high ceilings.

The 25,000 SF facility was designed by JEMA Architects and features a combination of an industrial facility and a modern school appearance. The design utilizes a traditional pre-engineered metal building with exposed exterior structure, married to a glass curtain wall system knifing through the metal building at an angle. The endwalls feature composite wood grain siding, vertical storefront windows, and an exposed metal building frame painted in Ranken’s color.
